myPITA members, please join our working group!Want to help shape the future of emergency preparedness education in BC schools? Please join us! This spring, PreparedBC is undertaking a full revision of our youth preparedness program--Master of Disaster—and we're looking for your help!
Master of Disaster helps prepare youth for disasters like floods, wildfires, earthquakes and tsunamis. Although it's received a very positive response, we’ve also gathered a lot of feedback from public school teachers, Indigenous educators and youth from across BC. We’re now ready to translate this feedback into action and positive change.
To do this, we’re assembling a group of volunteers to help shape the future of the Master of Disaster program. We’re hoping 2 or 3 myPITA members can lend their experience and expertise to this work. The revised program will be featured at the myPITA Fall Conference on Friday, October 25th. Although all expressions of interest will be warmly received, we encourage participation from teachers with a passion for inclusive education, Indigenous education, or curriculum design. Interested?
