PITA Supports New Teachers
Teaching is hard.
Teaching early in one’s career is harder. At our annual Fall Conference, Ray Myrtle presents his Start-Up Your Class Successfully workshop that has helped hundreds of early career teachers. The workshop is generally offered on Saturday morning. For all Early Career Teachers, this workshop will help you start and manage your classroom by building good routines. Each participant will receive a 33 page booklet The First Week of School with lesson descriptions, checklists and suggestions of what to leave for later and what to focus on now. If you read through the latest Fall Conference brochure you will find many other workshops that would be especially helpful to early career teachers. Most years there is a workshop for TTOCs as well as the opportunity for early career teachers to meet with that TTOC presenter during the lunch breaks on both Friday and Saturday. Many of the other workshops offfered are specifically useful for early career teachers, as well. They would be so beneficial for starting up your career and giving you a great head start to planning your year! |
